Shalom of Safed

1887-1980.



Born and lived all his life in Safed, Galilee, Israel.



Active as a watchmaker and silversmith, from the age of sixty as an artist.

Gallery exhibitions, separately from 1959 in Tel-Aviv, New York, Paris, Chicago, Bern, Zurich, Detroit, Dallas, Amsterdam, Palm Beach, Tucson, Düsseldorf, Munich, Stuttgart and other cities.



Separate museum exhibitions at, among others, the Jewish Museum, New York (61 and 64) The Israel Museum, Jerusalum (67) Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (67) Moderna Museet, Stockholm (67) Kunsthaus Museum, Zurich (68) Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels (68) Whitechapel Galleries, London (69) Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (71) The Detroit Institute of Arts (71) The New York Cultural Center (72) The Corcoran Gallery, Washington DC (72) Rheinisches Landes Museum, Bonn (75) etc.


Represented at, among others, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the National Museum of Modern Art, Paris, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and all the above museums.


Galleri Pictor, Gothenburg showed a solo exhibition in December 1978.
