Educated at Slöjdföreningens school in Gothenburg and at Akademi Collorossi in Paris.

Specializes in woodcuts and is one of the country's few woodcarvers. Member of, among others, Xylon, the association for artists who work with woodcuts and wood engravings.

Together with members of Xylon, he has exhibited in Berlin, Bulle, Friborg, Gelsen Kirchen, Genova, Lodz, Ludwigshafen, Lugano, Schwetzingen, Vienna and Winterthur.

Participated in Galleri Pictor's graphic exhibition spring 2002 and participates in Pictor's graphic exhibition spring 2007.

Ingvar Nilsfelt is represented at the National Museum, Grafikens Hus and the museums in Borås, Gävle and Växjö as well as around 40 municipal art collections and art collections in all the country's counties.
