Diane Griffiths has worked full-time with painting and graphics for over thirty years.

She is also a trained illustrator. As a graphic artist, she started at Gainsborough's House workshop in Suffolk where she worked with etchings. She then opened her own workshop in the village of Syderstone in Norfolk, Etching Et Cetera, and supplied art cards to hundreds of galleries in the UK and to Victoria & Albert Craftshop, Manchester Royal Exchange and Paperchase in London, among others.

She also opened a gallery in a small town on the North Sea coast

Wells-next-the-Sea, and worked with her husband, the author

Alan Byford, with the book publisher Hawthorn Press, which among other things published poetry

in small hand-printed editions.

Diane Griffiths now works with several graphic methods such as etching,

collography, linocuts and woodcuts and she combines her graphic skills with book art and the publication of handmade books in limited editions such as "The book of Salt" and most recently "The Oil of Mercy".

She now lives in the great English portrait and landscape painter Thomas Gainsborough's

hometown in Suffolk, Sudbury, and devotes himself partly to his own landscape painting, partly to teaching graphics and book art alongside his graphic production.
